Job Description
The Principal, Legal & Compliance Officer ensures that the company’s operations comply with relevant laws and regulations. He/she provides legal advice, drafts and review contracts, handles corporate governance, and represents the company in legal proceedings.
The job holder is responsible for legal drafting, contract negotiation, ensuring compliance with company laws, and providing counsel on legal issues related to business operations. He/she works closely with various departments to address legal concerns and implement policies. Duties and Responsibilities
Providing legal advice and support on various corporate and business matters, including contracts,
Guide the management team and stakeholders on the legal directions to take.
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various business agreements, including partnership agreements, employment contracts, and vendor agreements to protect the company’s interest.
Ensuring the company’s compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including corporate governance, employment law, and data protection.
Representing the company in legal proceedings, including litigation, arbitration, and negotiations with regulatory authorities.
Advising senior management on legal risks and providing strategic solutions to mitigate potential legal issues.
Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
Conduct due diligence and risk assessments for potential business deals and partnerships.
Advise on intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents.
Manage and resolve disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation.
Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed for specialized legal matters.
Develop and deliver training programs for employees and management on legal and compliance issues.
Monitor changes and give up to date information to the management in the country’s laws and regulations that may impact on the business.
Provide legal advice that complies with regulatory laws, keeping in mind the ethos of the company.
Ensure that the company avoids all kinds of legal risks and violations with the right corporate law services.
Evaluate ongoing and potential projects for the company and ensure that it adheres to corporate law stipulations.
Continually learn the dynamic changing laws and regulations of corporate law on a national and international scale.
Provide sound legal counsel whenever needed.
Improvise and oversee the company policies on legal affairs periodically as the company attorney.
Conducting legal research and staying updated on relevant legal developments and industry trends.
Job Requirements
Education:
BA Degree in law.
Experience:
2 Years of work experience in legal matters including Contract Negotiation or Compliance Handling or Dispute resolution or in related activities.
Experience in manufacturing or FMCG industries will be considered as plus.
