Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Research Officer located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Research Officer will be responsible for conducting market research, drafting feasibility studies, performing financial due diligence, and delivering valuation analyses. The role also includes analyzing business trends, creating detailed reports, and supporting strategic decision-making through data-backed insights. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders will be a vital part of daily tasks.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting sectoral, macroeconomic, and market research to support advisory projects and investment assessments
Preparing feasibility studies, industry analyses, and benchmarking reports
Supporting financial due diligence assignments by gathering data, analyzing company performance, and identifying key risks and opportunities
Contributing to valuation analyses through data collection, model support, and interpretation of financial metrics
Producing high‑quality research papers, presentations, and client‑ready reports with clear, evidence‑based insights
Monitoring economic reforms, regulatory updates, and market developments relevant to Ethiopia’s financial and investment landscape
Collaborating with project teams to integrate research findings into proposals, pitchbooks, and advisory deliverables
Maintaining internal research databases and ensuring information accuracy and relevance
About You
Qualifications
Strong research and analytical skills, including experience in market research and feasibility studies
Proficiency in financial analysis, financial due diligence, and valuation methodologies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting reports and presenting findings
Detail-oriented with advanced proficiency in data analysis and related tools
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when needed
Experience or understanding of the financial advisory domain is an advantage
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CFA) are a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint, and knowledge of financial modeling tools
A minimum of three years of relevant experience in investment research, equity analysis, corporate finance, management consulting, or public accounting (e.g., audit, valuation, or transaction services ).
