The Senior Accountant is vital to maintaining the integrity of our financial records. You will oversee the full accounting cycle, ensuring every transaction—from daily bookkeeping to complex year-end closings—is recorded and reported in strict accordance with international standards and legal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily & Monthly Operations

Transaction Oversight: Ensure day-to-day transactions (Accounts Payable, Cash Receipts, and Accounts Receivable) are recorded accurately.

Journal Entries: Perform timely month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.

Schedules: Maintain updated and accurate accounting schedules.
2. Financial Analysis & Monitoring

Revenue Recognition: Ensure proper recognition of revenue and expenses.

Cash Management: Monitor liquidity and perform periodic cash flow forecasting.

Status Summaries: Analyze financial data to summarize the company’s overall financial status for management.
3. Compliance & Year-End Closing

Tax Integrity: Ensure all accounting operations comply with Ethiopian tax laws and regulations.

Audit Support: Perform fiscal year-end close activities and assist external auditors with their requirements and documentation.
About You
1. Qualifications & Experience
-
Education: BA Degree in Accounting & Finance from a recognized university.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience.
2. Technical Skills
-
Software: Efficient user of Accounting Software (Peachtree/Sage) and MS Office tools (specifically Excel).

Language: Excellent written and spoken English is required for coordination within our international joint venture.
3. Competencies
