About the Job

We are looking for a dedicated Customer Service Officer I to join our team at the Assela Branch. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for our clients, responsible for executing and checking front-office service supports. You will ensure that all banking transactions—both cash and non-cash—are handled with precision, security, and exceptional service standards.


Key Responsibilities

1. Front-Office Operations

  • Transaction Handling: Process and check payment and collection transactions accurately.

  • Account Maintenance: Handle the opening, updating, and maintenance of customer accounts.

  • Cash Management: Safely manage cash and non-cash transactions in accordance with bank procedures.

2. Customer Relations

  • Inquiry Support: Respond promptly to customer enquiries and provide professional advice on financial products.

  • Issue Resolution: Resolve most customer requests and issues independently at the branch level.

  • Service Quality: Maintain high standards of customer service to enhance branch reputation and client retention.

3. Systems & Compliance

  • Core Banking: Utilize the bank’s core banking system to process requests and update records.

  • Reporting: Ensure all transactions are recorded according to the Bank’s accounting standards and procedures.


About You

1. Education & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Banking and Insurance, Accounting, Management, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of relevant professional experience specifically within a Banking environment.

2. Technical Skills

  • Banking Knowledge: Solid understanding of the basic mechanisms of general financial products and services.

  • Software Proficiency: Excellent command of Microsoft Excel and the wider Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Accounting: Strong grasp of basic accounting principles and bank-specific procedural knowledge.

3. Competencies

  • Ability to advise clients effectively and resolve complex requests.

  • Strong attention to detail regarding cash and data accuracy.

  • Capability to work efficiently under the Bank’s core banking system.
