The Role
Droga Pharma PLC is a leading importer and distributor of healthcare products in Ethiopia, boasting a team of over 400 professionals and the nation’s largest physiotherapy specialty clinic. We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to manage our Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) workflows. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring VAT compliance, and managing petty cash operations to support our growing nationwide pharmacy chain.
Key Responsibilities

Transaction Recording: Accurately record all credit and cash sales into the company system.

Cash Management: Collect bank documents, record customer payments, and issue official cash receipt vouchers.

Tax Compliance: Reconcile VAT balances daily between the system, cash register machines, and manual invoice summaries for senior review.

Receivables Management: Perform customer account lettering (matching) and follow up on outstanding credit balances.

Petty Cash Operations: Effect payments according to policy and coordinate timely settlements and replenishment requests with the AP team.

Documentation: Manage the systematic filing of financial documents and ensure timely handover of records to customers.

Support: Assist the management and accounting teams with ad-hoc financial reports and urgent escalations.
About You
Education & Experience

Degree: B.Sc. Degree or Diploma in Accounting and Finance from a recognized university or college.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience.
Requirement Skill

Communication: Ability to relay financial discrepancies and urgent matters to management clearly.

Teamwork: Collaborative mindset to work effectively across the AR and AP departments.

Technical: Proficiency in accounting software and basic financial reconciliation.
