The CISO Unit is looking for a seasoned leader to oversee the operational execution of the enterprise cyber defense program, ensuring the protection of AI-driven financial systems, cloud environments, and data infrastructure.

Role Overview

• Location: Addis Ababa

• Department: CISO

• Reports To: Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

The Head of Cyber Security translates enterprise risk strategy into operational controls. You will oversee the Security Operations Center (SOC), vulnerability management, and cyber defense engineering functions, while implementing Zero Trust architecture and secure development lifecycles.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cyber Security Operations & SOC Leadership

• Lead the defense of financial infrastructure, AI systems, and cloud environments.

• Oversee the SOC for real-time monitoring, threat detection, and incident triage.

• Define and enforce operational defense procedures and escalation protocols.

2. Threat Detection & Incident Response

• Establish detection capabilities across network, cloud, endpoint, and application layers.

• Coordinate cross-functional responses to malware, phishing, and data exfiltration.

• Ensure post-incident forensic analysis and maintain readiness through red team testing.

3. Vulnerability & Infrastructure Security

• Establish enterprise-wide scanning and remediation programs.

• Oversee security configurations for firewalls, WAFs, and endpoint protection platforms.

• Validate infrastructure compliance with enterprise architecture standards.

4. Identity & Secure Development

• Enforce IAM controls and mandatory Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

• Integrate security controls and testing processes into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

• Monitor for identity compromise risks and suspicious authentication patterns.

5. Intelligence & Reporting

• Oversee threat intelligence monitoring and integrate feeds into detection systems.

• Define and report cyber security operational performance indicators (KPIs) to the CISO.

• Maintain operational visibility of vulnerabilities and threat activity.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Experience: 10–12 years in cybersecurity, with significant leadership in security operations or cyber defense.

• Domain Expertise: Experience in financial services, fintech, or regulated digital environments.

• Technical Knowledge: Proven experience with Zero Trust architecture and cloud security controls.

• Certifications: CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are preferred.
