About the Job
As a Principal Trade Service Officer, you will be the primary authority on international trade finance operations within the bank. This senior-level role involves managing the full lifecycle of complex financial instruments that facilitate global commerce. You will be responsible for balancing operational efficiency with rigorous risk management, ensuring that every transaction complies with both local National Bank directives and international standard banking practices.
Key Responsibilities

Operational Oversight: Manage and process high-value trade instruments, including Letters of Credit (LCs), Bank Guarantees, and Documentary Collections.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations strictly adhere to international ICC rules, specifically UCP 600 (Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits) and ISBP (International Standard Banking Practice).

Risk Mitigation: Analyze trade documents for discrepancies, manage foreign exchange risks, and prevent fraudulent activities in import/export financing.

Advisory Services: Provide expert technical guidance to corporate clients (importers and exporters) regarding trade terms and risk protection.

Process Improvement: Streamline trade service workflows to reduce turnaround times while maintaining high accuracy and compliance standards.
About You
Education Requirements

Degree: BA in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, Banking & Finance, Business Management, Economics, or related fields.
Experience Requirements

Total Experience: At least 7 years of experience within the banking industry.

Seniority: A minimum of 2 years must be at the Senior Trade Service Officer level or an equivalent supervisory trade finance role.
Core Competencies & Skills

Expert Trade Knowledge: Deep familiarity with SWIFT messaging (MT7xx series), incoterms, and international trade laws.

Analytical Rigor: Exceptional attention to detail when examining complex shipping and financial documents.
