About the Job

Ashewa Technology Solution is looking for a detail-oriented Legal & Contract Administration Expert to lead the company’s legal and governance functions. In this role, you will be the primary safeguard for the organization’s legal interests, managing everything from complex tech-sector contracts to regulatory compliance and corporate documentation. This position is ideal for a legal professional who thrives in the fast-paced environment of digital services and outsourcing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Contract Management & Administration

  • Drafting & Review: Manage the full lifecycle of MoUs, NDAs, SLAs, vendor agreements, and partnership contracts.

  • Governance: Ensure all agreements align with Ethiopian law and company policy; maintain organized digital and physical repositories.

  • Advisory: Identify contractual risks and advise management on mitigation strategies.

2. Legal Advisory & Compliance

  • Regulatory Monitoring: Ensure the company meets all requirements for labor law, tax, ICT regulations, and investment laws.

  • Licensing: Coordinate the registration, renewal, and maintenance of all business permits and licenses.

  • Policy Support: Assist in formulating corporate governance frameworks and internal policies.

3. Dispute & Risk Management

  • Claims Handling: Manage legal notices, claims, and dispute documentation; liaise with external counsel and government bodies.

  • Preventative Measures: Identify potential legal bottlenecks and support disciplinary or internal investigation processes.

4. Operational & Corporate Support

  • Board Governance: Prepare board resolutions and official corporate correspondence.

  • Financial Support: Assist in the collection of receivables by enforcing contractual payment terms.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Provide legal awareness training to HR, Finance, and Procurement teams.

About You

Educational Qualification & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB); a Master’s Degree is preferred.

  • Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience in corporate legal advisory or contract administration.

  • Sector Knowledge: Previous experience in Technology, Telecom, or Outsourcing sectors is highly desirable.

  • Licensing: Being licensed to practice law in Ethiopia is a significant advantage.

  • Legal Drafting: Strong skills in analytical thinking and precision drafting.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of Ethiopian commercial and labor codes.

  • Negotiation: Proven ability to handle complex business negotiations and risk assessments.

  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital document management systems.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Turnaround time for contract preparation and review.

  • Compliance status of all regulatory licenses.

  • Effectiveness in dispute prevention and resolution.

  • Success in the timely collection of contractual receivables.
