This role is designed for a detail-oriented finance professional with specific experience in the NGO sector. You will be responsible for managing donor-funded budgets, ensuring strict compliance with Ethiopian financial laws, and maintaining rigorous accounting standards. The position requires a candidate who can handle complex financial reporting while strengthening internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reporting & Budgeting: Prepare and manage donor financial statements, project budgets, and monthly financial reports.

• Compliance: Ensure all activities align with donor regulations, organizational policies, and Ethiopian statutory requirements.

• Operations: Manage payroll processing, tax declarations, and timely bank reconciliations.

• Audit & Analysis: Support internal/external audits, respond to findings, and provide financial recommendations to management.

• Systems: Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks and strengthen internal financial control systems.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Advanced degree or CPA is a major plus).

• Experience: 3–5 years of proven experience, specifically in NGO accounting.

• Software: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.

• Knowledge: Strong understanding of IFRS and international donor compliance procedures.

• Skills: Expertise in financial forecasting, risk management, and statutory tax reporting.
