Role Overview

The ERP & ICT Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the IT department at National Transport PLC. This position focuses on maintaining and optimizing the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and core Information and Communications Technology (ICT) infrastructure. The assistant operates in a collaborative team environment, bridging technical capabilities with organizational workflows to drive efficient technology operations across all transport logistics sectors.

Key Responsibilities

1. ERP & Software Administration

  • Assist in the daily maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of core ERP systems to ensure optimal cross-departmental performance.

  • Participate in the rollout, staging, testing, and implementation of new software tools and routine system upgrades.

  • Gather, compile, and systematically document user feedback and requirements for prospective system enhancements.

2. ICT Helpdesk & Technical Support

  • Provide proactive technical support for day-to-day ICT issues, diagnosing and resolving software, hardware, and network difficulties promptly.

  • Facilitate training sessions and create user-friendly guides to help staff utilize ERP features and digital workplace tools effectively.

  • Actively listen to end-user technical concerns and translate user requirements into viable tech solutions.

3. Data Analysis, Project Support & Documentation

  • Conduct basic data analysis to isolate operational trends, generating technical summaries to support administrative decision-making.

  • Maintain clear, thorough, and updated documentation covering internal procedures, system parameters, and configurations.

  • Support the development and execution of broader IT projects, tracking metrics to keep timelines and project goals aligned.

  • Keep internal stakeholders informed regarding technical progress or changes to active digital systems.

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational & Professional Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related computational field.

  • 1 to 3 years of hands-on professional experience working within a technical IT support, ERP configuration, or systems administration capacity.

Required Competencies & Skills

  • Analytical Skills: Sharp troubleshooting and data interpretation capabilities to evaluate systems, trace errors, and isolate core issues.

  • Communication: Ability to communicate technical structures, updates, and user requirements clearly and patiently to non-technical staff.

  • Adaptability: High flexibility to navigate shifting technologies, fast-evolving enterprise software, and operational demands.

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous entry standards for system documentation, configuration logs, and progress reporting.

  • Strong team player with good time management, critical thinking, and a proactive attitude toward learning emerging tools.

Desired Skills (Added Advantages)

  • Prior experience delivering direct user training or desktop technical support.

  • Basic understanding of fundamental programming or scripting languages.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and project management workflows.
