Job Summary

The Senior Auditor will play a vital role in conducting complex and detailed external audits, reviewing financial statements, and providing valuable insights into improving financial and operational processes for clients. This position leads audit engagements, manages a team of junior auditors, and ensures complete compliance with applicable accounting and auditing standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Audit Engagement Leadership: Lead audit engagements, apply systematic risk-based audit methodologies, coordinate audit teams, assign field tasks, and review the work of junior auditors while ensuring strict timeline adherence.

• Risk & Control Assessment: Evaluate internal control systems, identify potential financial or operational risks, and develop targeted audit procedures to address them.

• Financial Review & Compliance: Analyze financial statements, transactions, and supporting files to identify errors, irregularities, or fraud indicators. Ensure full compliance with IFRS, IPSAS, or GAAP standards and relevant regulatory frameworks.

• Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, address specialized technical inquiries, and provide actionable recommendations to improve internal controls.

• Team Mentorship: Coach and mentor junior auditors, provide constructive performance feedback, and support the overall professional growth of the firm’s assurance team.

• Business Development: Participate in client proposals and firm-wide business development initiatives, showcasing technical expertise to enhance the firm’s industry reputation.

About You

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (such as ACCA or CPA) are highly preferred.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant external auditing experience, with proven experience in leading audit engagements or serving in a supervisory role within an audit firm.

• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of auditing principles, internal control frameworks, and structural accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS, IPSAS).

Required Skills & Core Competencies

• Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively manage client relationships and team dynamics.

• Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deliverables under tight timelines.

• Analytical Rigor: Sharp analytical skills and intense attention to detail to quickly isolate compliance risks and evaluate financial data.
