Job Summary

The Senior IT Risk Management Officer performs comprehensive Information Technology risk assessments, including emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and potential operational impacts on VisionFund MFI. This role supports the Risk Management Division Manager in establishing security policy frameworks, overseeing general IT compliance, protecting digital/core banking solutions, and driving the cyber incident response strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Risk Framework & Strategy: Oversee and implement the IT risk management framework to eliminate loopholes in day-to-day business tools, core banking software, digital banking platforms, and general ICT exposures.

• Vulnerability & Threat Assessment: Proactively identify IT-related threats, vulnerabilities, and system risks. Build and maintain the IT risk register, analyze risk scenarios, and ensure exposure stays within defined corporate risk appetite thresholds.

• Change & System Governance: Support and monitor the technical change management process. Challenge and advise on general IT controls, while escalating gaps found in IT systems, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) plans.

• Incident Response & Security Assurance: Lead cyber incident responses, collaborate with business lines to improve data privacy processes, and design risk reduction programs to strengthen information security assurance.

• Compliance & Policy Oversight: Ensure rigid compliance with IT policies, governance standards, security frameworks, and all national laws and regulations concerning information security.

• Awareness & Culture: Engage directly with the internal IT division to minimize cybersecurity exposure and deliver technical risk and cybersecurity awareness training to general staff.

About You

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BSc) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field. Having professional IT risk management certifications is a highly valued asset.

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 2 years specifically operating as a senior IT risk management officer within Banks, Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs), or alternative financial service companies.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Technical Core: Deep knowledge of modern risk assessment and information security risk management methodologies. Highly literate in technical, digital, and general network setups.

• Analytical Ability: Strong research, data evaluation, and analytical skills to diagnose infrastructure threats. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

• Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across business lines and train non-technical staff.
