Purpose of the Role

The LMS Developer will design, customize, deploy, and maintain scalable Learning Management System (LMS) platforms for enterprise and institutional clients. This role focuses heavily on Moodle infrastructure, requiring a technical professional capable of adapting learning frameworks, managing system integrations, and deploying robust e-learning environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Moodle Customization: Design, develop, and deploy Moodle-based platforms, tailoring custom themes, plugins, functional workflows, and tracking elements.

  • Module Management: Configure and supervise foundational modules, including user directories, course catalogues, interactive assessments, automated certifications, and tracking analytics.

  • Enterprise Integration: Securely connect the LMS architecture with corporate infrastructure, including HR/ERP platforms, Active Directory/LDAP, Single Sign-On (SSO) protocols, and custom third-party APIs.

  • Infrastructure Deployment: Deploy and optimize LMS environments across local on-premise data centers, cloud infrastructure, and mixed enterprise hardware setups.

  • Performance & Maintenance: Drive platform availability, database optimization, and security tuning. Oversee routine migrations, version upgrades, secure backups, and disaster recovery architectures.

About You

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a highly related technical field.

  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience specializing in Moodle LMS development, module customization, and production deployments.

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Core Technologies: High proficiency in PHP, database systems (MySQL/PostgreSQL), and foundational front-end web tools (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

  • System Administration: Practical knowledge of Linux server environments alongside Apache or Nginx configuration management.

  • E-Learning Benchmarks: Familiarity with standard e-learning protocols, including SCORM and xAPI.

  • Problem Solving: Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and code debugging abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience implementing enterprise-scale LMS architectures for universities, financial institutions, or government entities.

  • Exposure to cloud hosting environments (AWS, Azure, OCI) or modern DevOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
