About the Job
1. Background
Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are vital to Ethiopia’s economic transformation, yet many are hindered by internal inefficiencies such as a lack of structured production planning, inefficient workflows, and weak financial record-keeping. The Mabqat Program has developed a Total Production Management (TPM) framework to address these systemic constraints. This call seeks a consultancy firm to transition from diagnostic assessments to intensive, hands-on coaching that embeds management tools and operational discipline directly into 1,600 SMEs.
2. Objectives of the Assignment
The primary goal is to deliver practical, performance-driven coaching that results in measurable operational and financial improvements. Key objectives include:
Providing Handson coaching services on implementation of Improved tailored total production management.
Post Coaching Assessment to measure improvement.
3. Scope of Work
The selected firm will be responsible for an intensive coaching services provision to 1600 SMEs for 55 working days in four months.
About You
4. Qualification Requirements
Firm Requirements:
Proven track record in SME transformation and capacity building.
Deep knowledge of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, or Production Management.
Demonstrated capacity for simultaneous multi-town deployment.
Experience with donor-funded or public-sector reporting standards.
Key Experts Required:
Team Leader (SME Development Specialist).
Production & Operations Expert (TPM/Lean focus).
Finance & Working Capital Specialist.
Quality & Food Safety Expert (Agro-processing focus).
Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Specialist.
Town-Level Field Coaches.
