BACKGROUND

The East African Initiative for Change (I4C) is a board-led, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization registered under CSO Proclamation No. 1113-2019 (registry number 4805). Based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, I4C has been operational since March 2020.

The organization focuses on strengthening locally grounded conflict transformation efforts across the Oromia region through community resilience, inclusive dialogue, and institutional capacity-building.

Under the Civic Engagement Program, and with funding from Agence Française de Développement (AFD), I4C is implementing the Civil Society Innovation Fund Phase II (CSIF II) project titled “Strengthening Collaboration for Rights, Empowerment and Democracy.”

As part of this initiative, I4C invites eligible peacebuilding-focused CSOs to submit expressions of interest for small sub-grants aimed at strengthening programmatic capacity and supporting peacebuilding and conflict transformation activities.


OBJECTIVE

To support and empower selected CSOs and peacebuilding networks in implementing targeted projects that promote peacebuilding and conflict transformation practices.


GRANT INFORMATION

• Granting Period: August 01, 2026 – October 30, 2026
• Number of Selected CSOs: 3
• Budget Range: 300,000 – 366,000 ETB


EVALUATION CRITERIA

• Peacebuilding organizations (10%)
• Legal registration and valid documents (10%)
• Clarity of proposal and relevance to thematic area (30%)
• Feasibility of proposed activities (30%)
• Clear and realistic budget (10%)
• Compliance with Civil Society Law 1113/2019 (10%)


ABOUT YOU (ELIGIBILITY)

Applicants must:

• Be recently established (after 2021)
• Be legally registered with a valid operating license
• Have legal documents and receipts for project implementation
• Have presence or implementation capacity in the target region
• Submit a budget within 300,000 – 366,000 ETB
