Purpose of the Role
The Cashier Accountant provides secretarial, record-keeping, and office support services, manages project petty cash, and processes payments. Additionally, the role supports the Project Finance and Admin Officer in asset/materials management, controlling and monitoring financial operations, and providing administrative support to the project team.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Financial & Cash Management: Handle and manage project petty cash according to standard norms; prepare payment documents, attendance sheets, and monthly petty cash reconciliations/reports; review payments against the budget, rules, and regulations.

Logistics & Asset Operations: Manage project compound utilities (telephone, electricity, water) and office transport; handle purchased materials and fuel coupons, ensuring secure store management and timely use.

Procurement Support: Deliver and verify procurement documents; ensure the integrity of the procurement process following the organization’s procurement manual guidelines.

Administration: Handle incoming/outgoing correspondence chronologically; maintain systematic filing of financial and office records; assist line management with staff recruitment, disciplinary issues, and source document verifications.

Safeguarding & Ethical Conduct: Strictly comply with Farm Africa’s Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct, ensuring the safety of beneficiaries, preventing discrimination or harassment, and reporting any concerns immediately.
About You

Education & Qualifications:

Essential: College Diploma in Accounting, Secretarial Science, Office Management, or a related field, OR a BA degree in Accounting or Management.

Experience:

Essential: Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience for diploma holders, OR 2 years of relevant work experience for BA degree holders (Career Level: Mid Level 3–5 years).

Desirable: Previous experience in store management.

Skills & Abilities:

Familiarity with office equipment operations and a willingness to multi-task on own initiative.

Good team player, co-operative, and capable of working under pressure.
