About the Organization

TIMRAN is a non-partisan, women-led civil society organization established in March 2020 to enhance women’s participation in Ethiopian politics and public decision-making. It is registered under Proclamation No. 1113/2019 (registration number 4834) and operates as a membership-based organization.

Job Summary

The Financial Associate supports the finance department by maintaining financial records, processing transactions, preparing reports, assisting with budgeting, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process daily financial transactions (payments, receipts, journal entries).

  • Prepare and maintain accounting records and supporting documentation.

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.

  • Support budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis.

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.

  • Assist with payroll processing and related reconciliations.

  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and accounting standards.

  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.

  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation.

  • Monitor cash flow and assist with financial forecasting.

  • Prepare statutory and management reports.

  • Coordinate with banks, vendors, and other stakeholders.

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and internal controls.

  • Perform other finance and administrative duties assigned by the Finance Manager.


About You

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience in accounting or finance (Career Level: Junior Level 1-3 years).

  • Experience with accounting software and Peachtree systems is preferred.

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
