About the Job

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Manager to lead our finance function and support the company’s continued growth.

The Finance Manager will oversee the company’s financial planning, accounting operations, budgeting, reporting, taxation, treasury, compliance, and internal controls. The role requires a strategic finance professional capable of providing financial insights that support business decisions while ensuring compliance with Ethiopian financial regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Lead and supervise the Finance Department. Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company objectives. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. Monitor company financial performance and recommend improvements. Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to executive management.

  • Budgeting & Planning: Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor departmental budget utilization. Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions. Support strategic planning through financial modelling and forecasting.

  • Accounting & Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed asset management. Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Ethiopian accounting regulations. Coordinate monthly and year-end closing activities.

  • Treasury & Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and liquidity. Manage banking relationships and financial transactions. Optimize working capital and cash utilization. Review and approve payment schedules.

  • Tax & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure timely filing of all tax obligations. Maintain compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations. Coordinate tax audits and statutory reporting. Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies.

  • Internal Controls & Risk Management: Establish and strengthen internal financial controls. Identify financial risks and implement mitigation measures. Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures. Support corporate governance initiatives.

  • ERP & Process Improvement: Lead finance process automation using ERP systems (preferably Odoo ERP). Improve financial reporting processes through technology. Collaborate with ICT teams to enhance financial systems and reporting accuracy.

  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop finance team members. Set departmental KPIs and performance targets. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

About You

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s Degree is an advantage).

  • Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role. Experience in the technology, software, fintech, or digital services industry is an advantage.
