Location: Addis Ababa Project

Duties & Responsibilities

Project Financial Planning & Budgeting

Prepare project budget in coordination with Project Manager
Forecast project cash flow requirements
Plan fund allocation for materials, labor, and subcontractors
Ensure financial alignment with project timelines
Cost Control & Monitoring

Track project expenses against budget
Analyze variances and identify cost overruns
Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality
Review and approve site expense requests
Cash Flow Management

Ensure timely availability of funds for project operations
Monitor cash inflows from client payments
Approve disbursements for material, labor, and subcontractors
Prevent cash shortages that may delay project execution

Accounts & Reporting

Oversee project accounting and ensure accurate record-keeping
Prepare monthly project financial reports (P&L, cost report, cash flow)
Analyze project profitability
Report financial status to management regularly

Procurement & Payment Oversight

Review and approve payments to suppliers and subcontractors
Ensure procurement follows approved budgets and procedures
Coordinate with project purchaser and cashier for payment workflow

Compliance & Taxation

Ensure compliance with local tax laws (VAT, withholding tax, payroll tax)
Maintain financial records for audit
Coordinate internal and external audits for the project
Ensure adherence to company financial policies

Risk Management

Identify financial risks and potential cost overruns
Advise project management on financial decisions
Develop contingency plans for budget and cash flow challenges
Implement internal controls to prevent fraud or mismanagement

Team Supervision

Supervise project accountant, junior accountant, and cashier
Assign tasks and monitor performance
Train team on company procedures and reporting standards

About You
Key Skills Required

 

Strong financial analysis and accounting knowledge
Construction project accounting experience
Budgeting and cost control expertise
ERP and accounting software knowledge (SAP, Tally, QuickBooks)
Leadership and team management skills
Integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
BA in Accounting, Accounting and Finance and Related
10 (Ten) Years’ experience and (04) Years relevant
