Job Summary
The Finance Officer manages day-to-day financial operations and accounting functions for the Field Office program. This role ensures complete compliance with IMC internal policies, donor regulations (such as USAID, ECHO, UN, BHA), and host-country legal frameworks. Responsibilities span transactional accounting, pipeline analysis, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, financial reporting, and audit preparation.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Control

Manage day-to-day accounting routines including cash management, banking operations, payroll processing, and inventory accounting.

Prepare monthly Cash on Hand, Bank Reconciliations, and Cash/Bank Transaction Journals (CTJ/BTJ).

Review and code all submitted payment vouchers, invoices, and procurement files (offers, bid summaries, and Purchase Orders) for accuracy.

Input accounting data accurately into the Costpoint-Deltek ERP system.

Manage monthly accruals, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable tracking alongside VAT reporting to government offices.
Grant Management & Financial Reporting

Update monthly pipeline reports, cross-referencing actual spending with procurement trackers and program projections.

Prepare internal schedules and external donor financial reports reconciled directly with ledger records.

Maintain the tracking and booking of Gifts-in-Kind (GIK) transactions according to strict IMC rules.

Input and update budgetary allocations and variance reviews within the TM1 system.

Develop draft audit schedules and coordinate logistical support during annual or project-specific external audits.
Qualifications & Experience

Education: 4-year University Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (or equivalent combination of training and experience).

Experience: 4+ years of progressive professional accounting experience, ideally within an International NGO (INGO).

Technical Know-how: Deep knowledge of general accounting principles and financial regulations for major international donors (e.g., USAID, DFID/FCDO, ECHO, UN).

Systems: Hands-on experience working with computerized accounting software; familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is highly preferred.

Soft Skills: Strong independent workload management, crisp interpersonal communication, and the capacity to operate effectively under pressure across multi-cultural teams.

Languages: Written and verbal fluency in English is strictly required.
