IT Support – Job Description

 

We are seeking highly motivated fresh graduates and technically skilled IT support engineer with a strong passion for technology and problem-solving. The ideal candidate will provide reliable technical support, maintain efficient IT systems, and ensure the company’s hardware, software, and network infrastructures run smoothly.
About You
Key Responsibilities

 

User & Technical Support

– Respond promptly to technical support requests related to hardware, software, and network issues.

– Provide resolutions through phone, email, or in-person support to maintain customer satisfaction.

– Manage open support cases and follow up until resolution.

– Perform product inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of returned products.

– Provide technical direction and training to co-workers on computer and network usage.

– Offer client training and demonstrations on system functionality.

 

System Installation & Maintenance

 

– Design and install well-functioning computer networks, connections, and cabling.

– Inspect LAN infrastructure and fix minor or major issues to ensure reliability.

– Test and configure software, maintain and repair hardware and peripheral devices.

– Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance with minimal disruption to daily operations.

– Perform regular data backups to protect organizational information.

– Evaluate network performance and implement improvements for long-term efficiency.

 

Troubleshooting & Diagnostics

 

– Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex system, software, network, and hardware problems.

– Maintain documentation of issues and solutions to build a knowledge base for future reference.

– Respond to out-of-hours service calls as needed.

 

Security & System Management

 

– Assist in implementing and enforcing IT security protocols and measures.

– Manage and track hardware and software assets within the organization.

– Support integration, servicing, maintenance, and testing of Intruder Alarm Systems, IP Surveillance Systems, and Access Control Systems.

– Produce high-quality commissioning and handover documentation, including as-built drawings.

 

Collaboration & Communication

 

– Cooperate with the sales team to analyse customer requirements and prepare project plans.

– Attend internal meetings and provide updates on technical activities.

– Participate in occasional early-morning meetings (7:00 AM) at the Hayahulet Mazoria office when required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

 

– Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux, Mac OS), networking, and hardware.

– Electrical Installation: Experience with inverter and solar panel systems is an added advantage.

– Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

– Documentation: Skilled in creating and maintaining technical documentation.

– Remote Support: Proficiency in tools like ZenDesk, FreshDesk, or similar.

– Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

– Experience: No previous work experience is required

 

Work Schedule & Compensation

 

Work hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 04:00 PM (with flexibility for extended hours when required by clients).

 

Location: Hayahulet Mazoria (office-based)

 

Gross Salary: 12,731.73 birr per month
