JOB OVERVIEW:

Under the direct supervision of the IT Manager, the IT Officer will be responsible for all email communication systems and IT support for the Head Office and will provide basic support to our Gambella Parks. This role will include but is not limited to tasks such as maintaining Office 365 Tenant, Azure, and ESET Antivirus Tenants. IT support will include maintaining and troubleshooting LAN, WiFi, printers, routers, and local server infrastructure in addition to end-user device support. Basic user account management and training on the technology SOP and policies for staff inductions and refresher/awareness are also included in the portfolio. The Junior IT Officer will work closely with other colleagues that are working on technology.

MAIN ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure that IT and communication equipment is fully operational all the time. This includes backbone network monitoring, Wi-Fi access points, and more. This includes site routers, WIFI access points, and wired network points.
End-user device and equipment setup, maintenance, and management.
Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners:

Installing computer hardware and associated software necessary for operations.
Resolving computer problems, monitoring computer-processing systems, installing software, and testing the performance of computer equipment and programs.
Attend to all computer breakdown/repair maintenance calls.
Offer suggestion for possible upgrades and changes with IT equipment
Performing diagnostic tests and debugging procedures to optimize computer systems.
Maintain high-quality function of office servers, LAN, and printers:

Monitoring and maintaining networks and servers.
Assisting with network administration tasks
Installing, updating, and configuring end-user networking accessories.
Implementing security protocols and procedures to prevent potential threats.
Performing on-site troubleshooting/repair of defective/damaged hardware.
Office 365 + Azure AD—Provide IT advice and solutions as required for effective office functioning:

Full support on O365 tenant and Azure AD.
Provide first-level technical support on basic operation or maintenance of personal computers and/or peripherals using documented procedures and tools.
IT Support:

Daily IT support on Laptops, Desktops, Servers, Email, SharePoint and Printers
Maintain and manage the IT infrastructure.
Ensure that the IT policy is implemented and adhered to.
In line with the IT policy, maintain the IT systems to ensure maximum availability, access, and efficiency.
Biannual audits on Laptops and Desktops
Create new AD users when needed and timeous removal from local AD
Procedures, Training, and Capacity Building

Follow provided training manuals.
Follow SOPs.
Regular reporting of key metrics
About You
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
Microsoft 365 / Azure Certification
Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in providing IT support services and infrastructure. NGO experience is a plus
Office 365 and Azure AD Experience
Basic Computer Hardware Knowledge, Software Troubleshooting, Operating Systems (OS) Proficiency, Software Troubleshooting, Security Awareness, Active Directory (AD) and User Account Management, Technical Support and Customer Service Skills, Cloud Services and Applications
Familiarity with TeamViewer, Microsoft OS, Server OS, Zoom, Teams, Ms Office
Willingness to work after hours when required to.
Passion for Conservation and Wildlife
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and be flexible
Analytical mindset and strong ability to prioritize
Hands-on mentality
Required essential skills:

Proven IT expertise and technical proficiency.
Knowledge of current applications and trends of information technology.
Strong written and oral communication skills.

Highly organized, multi-tasked, and good time management skills
Office-based, remote support.
