About the Job
OVID Group, a premier Ethiopian construction and development conglomerate, is undergoing a strategic transformation. We have established a centralized Project and Performance Council (PPC) to oversee excellence across our six subsidiaries.
The IT Systems Support Specialist is the technical backbone of our state-of-the-art Project Control Situation Room. You will ensure that the hardware, software, networks, and advanced AV systems operate without interruption, providing a seamless environment for executive-level data reviews and national-scale decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Infrastructure & AV Support

Nerve Center Maintenance: Support the Situation Room’s servers, networks, and high-end display systems.

Meeting Readiness: Set up and operate audio-visual equipment, including video conferencing and sound systems, for executive presentations.

Live Support: Provide on-demand technical assistance during critical high-stakes meetings to ensure zero downtime.
2. Technical & System Administration

System Health: Perform regular updates, patch management, and preventive maintenance on all hardware and software.

Access Control: Manage user accounts, permissions, and security protocols for Situation Room systems.

Business Intelligence: Support the technical performance of data visualization platforms (Power BI/Tableau) used for project monitoring.
3. Security & Continuity

Disaster Recovery: Maintain regular system backups and test recovery procedures.

Asset Tracking: Keep a rigorous inventory of all IT and AV assets.

Coordination: Liaise with the central IT department on overarching network security and procurement.
About You
1. Educational Qualifications
-
Degree: BSc in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft) are highly encouraged.
2. Professional Experience
-
Tenure: 3–5 years of experience in IT support or systems administration.

Technical Breadth: * Familiarity with Cloud environments (Azure/AWS).

Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools and data visualization.

Proven track record in Audio-Visual (AV) setup and troubleshooting.

3. Core Skills
-
Networking: Solid understanding of Windows Server, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.

Customer Service: Exceptional ability to support executive-level users with patience and professionalism.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform under pressure in a “nerve center” environment.
