ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW
The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by proclamation No. 1133/2011, is the constitutionally mandated body to conduct elections, organize referendum and regulate political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is working to boost its’ institutional strength with a special focus on enhancement of human resource capacity. Accordingly, NEBE would like to invite applicants for Junior Financial and Operational Data Analyst position who meets the following requirements.

Reports to: Head, Finance and Budget Department
Duty station: NEBE Head Quarter, Addis Ababa
Duration: Four Months with the possibility Extension
Salary: As per the organization salary scale (Competitive)
Job Summary
The Junior Financial and Operational Data Analyst will contribute to the accurate processing and documentation of payroll for election personnel. This role provides a strong foundation in financial data management, focusing on data integrity, reconciliation, and system execution, while working closely with the Senior Analyst for guidance and mentorship.
Duties and responsibilities
Data Preparation & Quality Control: Collect personnel and payroll lists from NEBE departments. Perform data entry, cleaning, and verification to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Payroll Support: Assist in structuring and calculating payments using Microsoft Excel, ensuring compliance with established agreements for polling station and constituency staff.
Database Management: Record verified payment information in the centralized database, maintaining clear documentation of transfer dates and amounts for audit purposes.
Verification & Reconciliation: Help validate personnel lists and resolve discrepancies between departmental reports and the master database.
Reporting & Insights: Support the generation of routine reports and data extractions for management summaries and visualization tools.
Skill Development: Expand technical expertise in data management, reporting tools (Power BI), and scripting (Python) under the mentorship of the Senior Analyst.
Perform any other duties as assigned by your line manager.
About You
Specification:
Education and Work Experience:
MA or BA degree in Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
2 years for Masters or 4 years for Degree In data analysis, finance, or operations management, preferably in a high-volume data environment.
Know-How (Skills) (Technical competencies)
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data cleaning, formulas, and handling large datasets.
Excellent organizational skills with a commitment to accuracy and detail.
Preferred: Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
Preferred: Basic knowledge of Python or similar scripting languages for data manipulation.
