Job Title: Junior Project Accountant

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares checks, handles dispatch to each client, and maintains check pad balances.

  • Safely manages all bank matters and updates account files.

  • Maintains files of journal vouchers after payments are processed.

  • Records and posts all financial transactions on appropriate books of accounts.

  • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries.

  • Compiles and prepares monthly payroll.

  • Generates monthly bank reconciliation statements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

About You

Qualification & Experience

  • Education: BA/BSc in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years as an accountant in NGOs, government, or private organizations.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Software & Systems: Good experience with Peachtree Accounting Software and basic computer skills. Knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and ERP is desired.

  • Languages: Written and oral communication skills in Afaan Oromoo, English, and Amharic are mandatory.

  • Compliance: Strong experience implementing policies fully compliant with GAAP and national requirements. Experienced at managing donor funds and generating timely reports.

  • Attributes: High attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean, secure workspace.

  • Note: Priority will be given to competent female applicants.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Basic Monthly Salary: ETB 27,116.00

  • Transportation Allowance: ETB 1,800.00

  • Medical Allowance: Up to ETB 4,000.00
