Remuneration Package

  • Monthly Salary: 29,910 – 34,624 ETB

  • House Allowance: 12,100.00 ETB

  • Transport Allowance: 4,000.00 ETB

Purpose of the Job

To receive human rights complaints and process them through the case management system. The Registrar maintains systematic records of cases, issues summons, and copies of decisions under the direction of case managers, while keeping open lines of communication with complainants.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Admissibility & Proceedings: Rule on case admissibility and preside over initial proceedings as appropriate.

  • Case Management Administration: Act as the principal user for a state-of-the-art online/manual interactive case management system.

  • Data & Intake Governance: Oversee the compilation, recording, verification, and dissemination of all data related to complaint lodging and processing.

  • Complainant Support: Provide clear information, assistance, and legal/procedural referrals to individuals who come to lodge complaints.

  • Legal Issuances: Collaborate closely with case managers to issue formal summons and final decisions.

  • System Resource: Serve as an expert resource to the commission’s community regarding complaint intake, directing, and handling architectures.

  • Policy Input: Provide analytical reviews of internal systems, policies, guidelines, manuals, and tools, recommending strategic upgrades.

  • Metrics & Analytics: Aggregate data on the complaint handling process, tracking institutional response times and specific thematic legal areas.

About You

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Education: MA, BA, LLB, or LLM in Human Rights Law, International Law, or related legal fields of study.

  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience for BA/LLB holders, OR 4 years of relevant experience for MA/LLM holders (Career Level: Senior 5–8 years).

Language & General Requirements

  • Amharic: Professional fluency (written and spoken) is required.

  • Local Languages: Knowledge of other local languages spoken in the region is highly advantageous.

  • Tech Literacy: Fully computer literate.
