About the Job
• Manage daily financial operations, including accounting, cash management, and reconciliations
• Prepare monthly and annual financial Statements and management reports
• Develop, monitor, and control budgets and forecasts for AZHN operations
• Monitor sales, costs, and outlet
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and statutory requirements
• Manage tax filings (VAT/TOT, withholding tax, payroll taxes)
• Oversee accounts payable accounts receivable in the physical inventory count at the end of fiscal year.
• Support cate expansion planning, including budgeting, cost projections, and financial setup
• Ensure financial systems and controls are scalable
• Supervise and support accounting staff, if applicable
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
• Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the company.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
• Prepare and analyse financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Perform complex reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate and lead internal and external audits.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Review and approve financial transactions and journal entries.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Participate in the development and improvement of accounting policies and procedures.
• Keep up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial projects and initiatives.
About You
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification.
• Proven experience in accounting or finance, with a minimum of [6] years as a senior accountant.
• At least 2 year of managerial or supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and accounting practices
• Strong understanding of cost control, inventory management, and cash handling
• Proficiency in accounting software(e.g., Peachtree/sage, quick books, or similar)
• Strong excel skill for reporting and analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and lead by example.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS).
• Experience in the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets.
• Experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
