Job Summary
The Senior Accountant oversees general accounting operations, ensures the daily reconciliation of sales, and maintains the integrity of all financial transactions. This role is pivotal in maintaining the general ledger, supporting month-end and year-end closings, and supervising junior staff to enhance financial efficiency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Operations & Daily Reconciliation

Sales Monitoring: Reconcile sales daily and post entries into QuickBooks in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Transaction Oversight: Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.

Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and all bank accounts on a monthly basis.
2. Reporting & Analysis

Financial Statements: Prepare accurate, error-free financial reports and present findings to management.

Budgeting: Analyze financial data to assess the organization’s position and compare departmental budgets with actual financial budgets.

Audit Support: Coordinate internal and external audits and assist in the preparation of tax filings.
3. Compliance & Taxation

Statutory Reporting: Collaborate with the Taxation Unit to ensure proper handling of VAT, withholding tax, pension, and other statutory reporting to the ERA.

Standards: Ensure all records comply with GAAP, IFRS, and local reporting frameworks.

Payroll: Prepare monthly payroll and ensure timely salary payments to all staff.
4. Leadership & Process Improvement

Supervision: Guide and support junior accountants and data entry clerks.

Internal Controls: Develop and maintain internal control procedures and recommend enhancements to accounting systems.
About You
1. Education & Experience
-
Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Tenure: Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional accounting experience.
2. Technical Knowledge & Skills
-
Software: Mandatory proficiency in Peachtree Accounting Software and experience with QuickBooks/ERP systems.

Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of GAAP and IFRS.

Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to analyze complex business data.
3. Core Competencies
