Purpose of the Position
The Senior Accountant oversees financial operations, ensures the integrity of financial records, and manages manufacturing-specific accounting. This role requires a deep expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, and tax compliance within the manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting: Maintain and prepare financial statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards.

Cost & Inventory Management:

Oversee job costing, variance analysis, and cost build worksheets for imports.

Manage Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and track inventory levels.

Conduct periodic inventory audits and reconcile physical stock with system records.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate on annual cash forecasts and analyze budget variances.

General Ledger: Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and reconciliations.

Tax Compliance: Prepare tax returns (VAT, Corporate Income Tax) and coordinate with tax authorities and auditors.

Internal Controls: Improve control systems to prevent fraud and ensure adherence to company policies.

Financial Analysis: Evaluate business performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Candidate Requirements
Education & Experience

Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience: 2–3 years of accounting experience, specifically within the manufacturing sector.
Skills & Competencies

Technical Knowledge: Strong command of cost accounting, inventory management, and Ethiopian tax laws.

Software: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
