Quick Summary
Working under the Deputy Director of Finance, the Senior Finance Officer is responsible for the integrity of MSIE’s financial data. You will manage the recording and posting of transactions across various service channels (Centres, Outreach, and Social Franchising) and ensure that all financial statements are prepared in accordance with international and donor standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Data Integrity: Properly code and record expenditure, income, and stock transactions (receipts, transfers, and consumption) in SUN Accounting.

Reconciliations: Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and quarterly reconciliations between the SUN General Ledger and Peachtree Subsidiary Ledger.

Reporting: Assist in the preparation of semi-annual and annual financial statements, ensuring they meet the requirements of MSI and external project funders.

Compliance & Audit: Respond to auditor queries, prepare audit schedules, and verify payroll transactions including complex deductions.

Support & Guidance: Offer reporting formats and guidelines to accounting staff and assist Centre Coordinators on financial matters.
Requirements:

Education: MA or BA Degree in Accounting.

Experience: Minimum of four (4) years specifically as a Finance Officer.

Software Mastery: Proficiency in SUN Accounting, Vision XL, and Peachtree software.

Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of donor policies, standards, and strong financial analysis capabilities.
