Job Summary
The Senior Inventory Controller and Inspection Officer is a critical role responsible for overseeing the management, tracking, and control of all inventory and movable long-term assets within the National Society. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of all supply chain processes—from warehouse management to physical reconciliation—ensuring that life-saving humanitarian supplies are always accounted for and ready for deployment.
Key Performance Areas
1. Movement Control & Tracking

Logbook Management: Maintain rigorous control over incoming and outgoing stocks and movable long-term assets against movement logs.

Stock Documentation: Ascertain that bin and stock cards are accurately maintained for every item to track real-time balances.

Classification: Classify and codify store items, ensuring specialized items are kept with separate, detailed records.
2. Inspection & Verification

Quality Assurance: Check and verify all incoming procured items against technical specifications and support documents before they are accepted for storage.

Asset Health: Maintain an up-to-date inventory of warehouse items, including details on make, model, user branches, and roadworthiness (for vehicles).

Damage Control: Identify and report properties that are misappropriated, abused, or damaged to initiate repair or replacement.
3. Stocktaking & Reconciliation

Auditing: Participate in both scheduled and surprise physical stocktaking exercises.

Discrepancy Resolution: Identify and reconcile differences between physical counts and inventory control records.

Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve quantity discrepancies to maintain record integrity.
4. Supply Chain Optimization

Buffer Management: Monitor stock balances against pre-determined minimum or buffer levels.

Procurement Initiation: Initiate procurement requisitions once items reach their reordering levels.

Reporting: Provide detailed reports on stock movements and irregularities to senior management for prompt action.
About You
1. Educational Requirements
-
Degree: Second Degree (Master’s) or First Degree (Bachelor’s) in Materials Management, Inventory Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or Business Administration.
2. Professional Experience
-
Tenure: 6 years (for Second Degree) or 8 years (for First Degree) of relevant work experience.

Seniority: At least 3 to 4 years in a senior-level position specifically within inventory or supply chain management.
3. Core Skills

Inventory Management: Expert-level knowledge of stock control systems and warehouse management principles.

Analytical Thinking: Ability to audit large datasets and identify physical-to-digital discrepancies.

Compliance: Strong commitment to ERCS guidelines and humanitarian supply chain standards.
