ABOUT THE JOB
Nisir Microfinance Institution S.C is a pioneering financial service provider in Ethiopia focusing on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises.
The institution is currently undergoing organizational restructuring to support growth and expansion. The Senior IT Governance and Security Officer role is designed to strengthen the organization’s IT security, governance, and risk management systems.
The role is responsible for protecting the institution’s computing infrastructure from security breaches by designing systems, enforcing policies, and ensuring compliance with security standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and maintain IT governance policies and procedures in compliance with industry standards
• Identify, assess, and mitigate IT infrastructure risks
• Monitor and troubleshoot IT systems to ensure optimal performance and availability
• Maintain IT security policies including risk analysis, access control, and compliance enforcement
• Manage access controls, authorization systems, and emergency procedures
• Define standards for encryption, audit trails, and security event reporting
• Oversee disaster recovery and security incident response procedures
• Conduct security audits, compliance checks, and gap analysis
• Evaluate and recommend cybersecurity tools and technologies
• Monitor network usage to ensure compliance with security policies
• Perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessments
• Collaborate with IT teams and management to improve security posture
• Document security incidents and assess their impact
• Provide training and awareness on cybersecurity best practices
• Stay updated on emerging IT security threats and standards
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements
ABOUT YOU
Qualification:
• BSc Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 4 years of relevant experience
