About the Job
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of hardware systems and IT infrastructure delivered to clients. The role ensures operational reliability of devices and compliance with service-level agreements through timely diagnosis and resolution of technical issues.
The technician also manages warranty processes, supervises junior technical staff, and supports project implementation activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Hardware Maintenance & Repair
Diagnose and resolve technical faults in hardware systems, including servers, workstations, networking devices, POS equipment, and peripherals.
Perform component replacement, system repairs, and hardware upgrades.
Ensure systems meet manufacturer performance specifications.
2. Preventive Maintenance Management
Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for client devices.
Conduct equipment inspections to detect potential failures.
Implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
3. Device Installation & System Deployment
Install and configure hardware infrastructure for new client implementations.
Support system deployment activities, including device integration and testing.
Ensure proper system configuration and operational readiness before handover.
4. Warranty & Vendor Coordination
Manage devices under manufacturer or vendor warranty programs.
Coordinate repair or replacement of defective equipment with vendors.
Ensure proper documentation and follow-up of warranty claims.
5. Technical Support & Field Service
Provide on-site technical support to clients.
Troubleshoot hardware-related service incidents and restore service availability.
Provide guidance to users on proper equipment usage and maintenance.
6. Supervision & Knowledge Sharing
Provide technical guidance to Assistant Maintenance Technicians.
Ensure adherence to service standards and maintenance procedures.
Support training of junior technical staff.
7. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain detailed maintenance records, service logs, and repair reports.
Prepare periodic technical reports for management.
Update asset maintenance history and system documentation.

About You
Academic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in:
Computer Engineering
Electronics Engineering
Information Technology
Electrical Engineering or related field
Experience
3–5 years of relevant experience in IT hardware maintenance, field service, or infrastructure support.
Experience in maintaining enterprise hardware systems is highly desirable.
