Position Overview / Scope of Role
The Sales & Marketing Manager is a senior commercial leadership role responsible for strategically driving revenue growth, market expansion, and brand dominance across OVID Trading PLC’s full product portfolio—with a primary focus on construction materials, rebar sales (including A-Plus Grade rebar), and other industrial inputs.

This role requires deep industry understanding, strong B2B selling capabilities, and proven experience working with construction companies, contractors, real estate developers, rebar distributors, wholesalers, and project owners. The manager will oversee the full commercial cycle—sales strategy, marketing, customer engagement, pricing, key account management, forecasting, and team leadership—ensuring OVID Trading becomes a top-tier supplier of rebar and construction materials in the Ethiopian market.

In addition to construction materials, the role also covers all other items in OVID Trading’s expanding portfolio, ensuring diversified revenue streams and strong competitive positioning across multiple market segments.

Top Roles and Responsibilities
Comprehensive Sales Strategy & Execution (Strong Focus on Rebar)
Develop, lead, and execute robust sales strategies for all trading items, with specific focus on rebar and high-demand construction materials.
Drive mass and bulk sales campaigns targeting:

Rebar wholesalers
Distributors
Contractors and subcontractors
Developers and mega projects
Set aggressive revenue targets and develop tactical action plans to exceed monthly and annual sales goals.
Lead customer segmentation and territory planning to maximize rebar sales penetration across regions.
Build strong relationships with rebar manufacturers, distributors, and large project buyers.
Construction Market Penetration & Industry Influence
Actively engage with stakeholders within the construction ecosystem—including project managers, engineers, procurement officers, site supervisors, and consultants—to secure high-volume orders.
Monitor large-scale government and private construction projects and position OVID Trading as the preferred supplier of rebar and construction materials.
Identify new opportunities within infrastructure, real estate, industrial manufacturing, and public works projects.
Product Portfolio Management – Beyond Rebar
Oversee sales activities for all material categories including but not limited to:

Cement, aggregates, concrete materials
Finishing materials (tiles, gypsum, paints, accessories)
MEP materials (electrical, mechanical, plumbing items)
Industrial supplies and any additional products introduced by the company
Lead product pricing, discount structures, and promotional strategies across all material lines.
Ensure detailed product knowledge and technical understanding across the team.
Marketing Leadership & Brand Positioning
Develop integrated marketing plans to position OVID Trading as a leading construction material supplier.
Oversee promotional strategies, digital campaigns, social media, corporate branding, and product catalogs.
Ensure marketing messages differentiate the company in the rebar and construction materials market.
Plan and lead participation in expos, exhibitions, contractor meetings, and industry events.
Key Account Management & Customer Relationships
Build and maintain long-term relationships with:

Major rebar distributors
Contractors and subcontractors
Developers and project consultants
Retailers and wholesalers
Implement CRM systems to enhance loyalty, repeat business, and customer satisfaction.
Resolve escalated issues and ensure on-time delivery in collaboration with supply, warehouse, and logistics teams.
Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
Conduct continuous market research on:

Rebar price trends (daily, weekly, monthly)
Competitor pricing and distribution channels
Construction material shortages and demand peaks
Industry shifts and upcoming mega projects
Prepare strategic market intelligence reports for management, strengthening decision-making.
Use data-driven insights to adjust pricing, campaigns, and sales tactics.
Cross-Department Collaboration & Internal Leadership
Work closely with:

Technical Department for rebar specifications, steel grade approvals, and technical support
Supply Department for stock levels, demand forecasting, and purchasing plans
Logistics Department for delivery schedules, truck allocations, and service reliability
Finance for credit approvals, payment follow-up, and profitability analysis
HR for sales team recruitment, training, and performance development
Serve as the commercial voice in cross-functional meetings and planning sessions.
Budgeting, Reporting & Financial Management
Develop and manage the annual sales & marketing budget.
Monitor sales profitability, gross margin, product mix, and cost-to-serve.
Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports for the CCO.
Identify pricing opportunities that maximize profitability without compromising competitiveness.
Team Leadership & Capacity Development
Lead, motivate, and supervise the Sales & Marketing team for high performance.
Conduct frequent coaching, sales reviews, and performance evaluations.
Build a results-driven culture with strong discipline, accountability, and commitment to targets.
Oversee continuous training on rebar, construction materials, and technical sales.
Compliance, Risk Management & Governance
Ensure all commercial activities adhere to company policies and legal requirements.
Mitigate risks related to:

Pricing volatility
Rebar quality or grade mismatches
Customer credit exposure
Delivery delays
Maintain accurate documentation for audits, contracts, and customer files.
Other Duties
Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Chief Commercial Officer.

About You
Education: BA/MA Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales Management, or related fields.
Experience:Minimum 10 years in sales and marketing roles.
Minimum 4 years in a managerial role.
Mandatory: Experience in construction sector sales, including rebar (preferably A-Plus Grade), construction materials, or engineering-related products.
Experience in B2B sales, bulk supply, and contractor engagement.
