Position Summary

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial management, strategic planning, reporting, and control functions of the organization in South Sudan. This role ensures robust financial governance and compliance with both regulatory and organizational policies. As a key leader, you will support strategic decision-making through high-level financial analysis and lead a dedicated team to ensure the efficient utilization of all financial resources.


Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy & Planning

  • Development: Implement financial strategies that align with the Group’s long-term goals.

  • Budgeting: Lead the preparation of annual budgets, sophisticated financial forecasts, and detailed financial plans.

  • Performance: Monitor organizational financial health and provide data-driven recommendations for improvement.

2. Reporting & Analysis

  • Transparency: Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior leadership.

  • Insights: Conduct deep-dive financial analysis to identify risks and support operational decisions.

  • Liquidity: Monitor cash flow, revenue streams, and expenditures to maintain optimal financial stability.

3. Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Governance: Maintain a strong system of internal controls to protect organizational assets.

  • Audit Coordination: Lead both internal and external audit processes and ensure the swift implementation of recommendations.

  • Regulations: Ensure absolute compliance with South Sudanese national regulations, tax laws, and international accounting standards.

4. Treasury & Team Leadership

  • Cash Management: Manage banking relationships and ensure all obligations to suppliers and staff are met on time.

  • Mentorship: Supervise, train, and mentor the finance and accounting staff, promoting a culture of accountability and integrity.


About You

1. Education & Qualifications

  • Academic Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of international accounting standards and regional financial regulations.

2. Professional Experience

  • Tenure: A minimum of twenty (20) years of progressive experience in finance or accounting.

  • Seniority: Proven track record in financial management, budgeting, and reporting at a senior level within large corporations or NGOs.

  • System Proficiency: High level of proficiency in ODOO ERP systems is required.

3. Personal Attributes & Skills

  • Leadership: Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.

  • Analysis: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Account Management: Proven expertise in managing complex accounts and stakeholder relationships.

  • Resilience: Ability to maintain accuracy and meet strict deadlines while working under pressure.
